How it works

Three steps
to your iPhone.

Drag in your whole collection and Luma Transfer takes every subfolder along, sending it album by album. Up top you see how many songs have arrived and how long it’s going to take. Whatever is already on the iPhone is skipped.

  1. Open Luma

In Luma on your iPhone or iPad, tap Import Music ▸ From Mac. Then plug in the USB cable, or stay on the same Wi-Fi as your Mac.

  2. Drag in music

Drag files or whole folders into the Luma Transfer window, or click “Choose Folders or Files…”.

  3. Send & accept

Pick your device, click “Send” and accept the transfer on the iPhone. Luma sorts everything into your library by itself.

Luma Transfer does

FAQ

Questions about
Luma Transfer.

Step by step and for troubleshooting: the Luma Transfer guide. Every other way is in music from a Mac or PC to your iPhone.

Do I need iTunes or the Finder?
No. Luma Transfer sends your music straight to the Luma app on your iPhone or iPad. You don't sync anything through the Finder and need neither iTunes nor a cloud.
Can I send my whole collection at once?
Yes. Drag in your entire music folder: Luma Transfer includes every subfolder and sends album by album. Songs that are already on the iPhone are skipped, so only what's missing arrives. If the connection drops along the way, just send again and Luma Transfer only transfers the rest.
Wi-Fi or USB cable, what do I need?
Either works. Over Wi-Fi, your Mac and iPhone have to be on the same network and Luma needs local network access on the iPhone. Over a USB cable it works without that permission too.
Does Luma Transfer sync my library?
No. Luma Transfer copies the tracks you send and doesn't keep libraries in sync. Whatever you change or delete on the Mac afterwards stays as it is on the iPhone.
Is there Luma Transfer for Windows?
No, Luma Transfer runs on Macs with macOS 26 or later. How to get music from a Windows PC into Luma is explained in the guide music from a Mac or PC to your iPhone.
What does Luma Transfer cost?
Nothing. Luma Transfer is free and needs no account, just like Luma on iPhone and iPad. Luma for Mac already has Luma Transfer built in.
