Roadmap

Luma roadmap: This is what we're working on,and what comes after it.

This page shows which features are coming to Luma next and roughly when we expect them. The order isn't fixed, because your feedback helps decide what we build first.

  1. Done in Luma 1.6

    Support for the iPhone Duo

Since Luma 1.6, Luma uses the large screen of the unfolded iPhone Duo. Albums and playlists show the cover beside the title and buttons, and the player and lyrics open full screen. The iPad got the same wide layout along the way.

  2. Done in Luma 1.7

    Dynamic playlists

Since Luma 1.7 and Luma for Mac 1.2.0, dynamic playlists fill themselves based on rules you set. You combine conditions like “genre is jazz” and “played more than ten times”, and every track that matches ends up in the playlist on its own. Most Played, Recently Played, Recently Added and Liked are now dynamic playlists too, and you can adjust them.

  3. In progress

    Luma Sync

Luma Sync keeps your tracks, playlists, stats and all your other data in step between Mac and iPhone. Whatever you change on one device is there on the other one too. The data goes straight from device to device (peer to peer), with no server, cloud or account involved.

  4. Planned for 2027

    Widgets for iPhone

With widgets on your Home Screen you can keep an eye on Luma without opening the app and get to your music with a single tap. If you already know which widgets you'd like, feel free to tell us now.

  5. No date yet

    Luma for Apple Watch

The Apple Watch is on our list, but there's no date for it yet. Let us know what you'd want on your wrist, for example a remote for your iPhone or music stored right on the watch.

Last updated: October 27, 2026. All dates are goals and may shift.
