Luma All settings at a glance
Settings & data, updated
The Settings tab is deliberately short: import at the top, four sub-pages below it, and statistics. Your Luma version is shown at the very bottom.
General
| Setting | What it does |

| Start Screen | Whether the app opens on the library or the playlists. |
| Home | Album layout (grid or list), “Recently Added” on/off, pinned playlists and collections and their order. |
| Separate dynamic playlists | Under Playlists Tab: on shows dynamic playlists in their own row above the other playlists, off puts all of them in one list. Default: on. See Dynamic playlists. |
| Show Collections | Show or hide collections; hidden ones are kept. Default: on. See Collections. |
| Top of the Playlists Tab | Whether your playlists or your collections come right below the dynamic playlists. |
Playback
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Cross-Fade | Blend between songs, 0 (off) to 12 seconds. Default: off. |
| Normalize volume | Play every song at the same loudness. Default: on. |
| Equalizer | 10-band EQ with presets. Default: off. |
| Swipe gesture | What a full swipe to the left does: Play next or To End. |
| Technical Details | Under Advanced: shows a song's format, loudness and signal path in its menu and in the player. Default: off. |

Appearance
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Light or dark | System, Light or Dark. System follows your device's setting. Default: Dark. The player always stays dark, its colors come from the cover. |
| Show Artists Under Titles | In albums, shows a song's artist when it differs from the album artist, for example on features. |
| Cover corners | Rounded or Square. Square shows artwork in full, useful for covers with a border that rounded corners would cut off. |
| App Icon | Five variants for your Home Screen, see below. |
Changing the app icon
Choose from Green, Graphite, Light, Blue and Violet. Tap an icon and it appears on your Home Screen right away. iOS shows a one-time notice that the icon has changed; that's normal and can't be turned off.
Library & Storage
- Overview: number of songs, albums, artists and playlists, plus the total duration of your collection.
- Storage Used: how much space the imported music takes.
- Included in iCloud Backup: a note that Luma, music included, is part of the device backup. More in Storage, backup & a new iPhone.
- Backup: Export Data saves playlists, collections, likes and stats in one file, Import Data reads it back in. More in Export and backup.
- Export Library: copies every song with its covers and playlists into a folder of your choice.
- Delete All Tracks: removes every song, album and artist including the audio files. This can't be undone.
Statistics
Settings › Statistics shows what you've actually listened to:
- Listening time: the time you actually listened; partly played songs count to the second.
- Plays: how often songs were played.
- Top Songs: your ten most played songs.
- Top Artists: your ten artists with the most minutes listened. Tap one to play their songs, most listened first.
- Library: songs, albums, artists and playlists at a glance.
All statistics are calculated on your device only and are never sent anywhere.
